Two start dates: Pilot #1 (November 9) and Pilot #2 (January 11). Choose the one that works best for you.
Families, coaches and athletes in each group start at the same time. Everyone learns the skills in their own way, but we’re all part of something bigger — a community helping build a more composed, focused and resilient generation.
Different teams. Different athletes. Same goal.
-
Yes. You can still join through Week 4.
You’ll get access to all 6 lessons and can catch up at your own pace. To complete the pilot, you’ll still need to finish all 6 lessons and both check-ins.
If another pilot is coming up, you can also choose to start fresh from Week 1.
-
No. No app is required.
We send each lesson directly to you. Open the link on your phone, tablet or computer and you’re ready to go.
If you want to use the Elite IQ platform, that option can be available too — but it is not required to take part in the pilot.
Open the lesson. Learn the skill. Use it when it matters.
-
We send them directly to your email.
Each week, you’ll get a simple link to the lesson, real hockey situations and quick parent/coach support.
Open it on your phone, tablet or computer. No login or app required.
One link. One skill. Ready when you are.
-
Elite Hockey IQ is built for athletes from U12 through university.
The lessons are simple enough to understand quickly, but the skills grow with the athlete.
They can use them in hockey now — and in school, work and life later.
Simple enough to learn young. Valuable enough to keep for life.
THE 6-WEEK PILOT
-
6 weeks. 6 short lessons. One skill to focus on each week.
All 6 lessons are available from the start, so you can explore anytime. Each week, we’ll highlight one:
Weeks 1–2 — Composure: Get calm and ready before big moments.
Weeks 3–4 — Focus: Stay locked in when pressure hits.
Weeks 5–6 — Resilience: Learn, recover and move forward after setbacks.
Each week includes:
2-Minute Lesson: One simple skill, taught visually.
Real Situations: Examples of when to use it in hockey.
Parent + Coach Support: Quick reminders or praise that take only seconds.
Mark Complete: A quick check so we know the lesson was tried.Total lesson time across all 6 weeks: about 12–20 minutes.
One skill at a time gives athletes a real chance to learn it, use it and make it stick.
-
Each week: About 2–3 minutes for the lesson, plus a few seconds to mark it complete.
Parent + Coach Support: Quick reminders or praise when helpful — usually just seconds.
Check-Ins: Two short surveys, about 1–2 minutes each.
Welcome Call: Usually 5–10 minutes.
Across the full 6 weeks, the lessons themselves take only about 12–20 minutes total.
Very little time. Skills they can use for years.
-
Check-ins: 2 short surveys (1–2 minutes). 4–7 questions each. One before the pilot. One after.
Why it matters: We want to prove progress, not just say the lessons work. The before-and-after answers show us what changed and help us make the program even better.
Before the pilot: Parents answer 3 quick ratings about their athlete:
How calm and ready are they before big moments?
How well can they stay focused under pressure?
How well can they move forward after a tough loss or setback?
After the pilot: We ask the same 3 questions again, plus:
Were the lessons easy to understand?
Were the skills easy to remember?
Were the skills easy to use?
Athlete check-in: Athletes can answer the same questions from their own point of view. This is optional, with no written answers required.
-
No problem. Life happens.
All 6 lessons stay available, so you can catch up whenever it works for you.
To complete the pilot and keep access for life, just finish all 6 lessons and both check-ins before the pilot closes.
Stay on track when you can. Catch up when you need to.
-
Complete the final check-in, then keep learning.
Once all 6 lessons and both check-ins are complete, you keep access to the full 15-lesson Elite Hockey IQ program.
We’ll also use the pilot results and feedback to improve what comes next.
The pilot ends. The skills do not.
-
Complete the pilot and Elite Hockey IQ stays free for you.
That includes the full 15-lesson program and future updates to it.
Why? You are helping us test, improve and build this early. Keeping access is our way of saying thank you.
6 lessons. 2 check-ins. Keep access for life.
FAMILIES, TEAMS + CLUBS
-
Yes. Families can join on their own.
One parent or guardian signs up, completes the consent form and adds their athlete.
From there, we send the lessons directly to you. Your athlete can learn at their own pace, and you can support as much or as little as needed.
Simple for families. Valuable for athletes.
-
Yes. You can include more than one athlete from the same family.
One Signup: Add each athlete during the consent process.
Same Lessons: Everyone can access the 6 pilot lessons.
Separate Progress: Check-ins and lesson completion are tracked for each athlete, so we can see their progress clearly.
One family. Multiple athletes. Still simple.
-
Yes. Teams can join the pilot together.
A coach or manager can introduce the pilot to the team, then parents choose to sign up and complete consent for their athlete.
We’ll send the lessons directly to participating families, while the coach gets simple guidance to reinforce the same skill across the team.
One language. One skill each week. Less pressure on the coach to teach it all.
-
Yes. Clubs can bring the pilot to multiple teams.
We can keep the setup simple: one main contact, clear parent consent and the same weekly skill across participating teams.
Each family still chooses to take part, while the club gets a simple way to support athlete development across the organization.
Same skills. Same language. More athletes supported.
-
For athletes under 18, yes. A parent or guardian signs up and gives consent.
After that, the athlete can complete the lessons on their own.
Parents do not need to teach, coach or turn it into homework. A quick reminder can help when needed, and praise matters when you see the skill being used.
The lesson does the teaching. Parents help it stick.
-
No formal training. Just one short welcome call.
After that, you can get as much support as you need, but nothing else is required.
The lessons do the teaching. Parents and coaches simply help reinforce the skill when it comes up.
No lesson plans. No extra meetings. No added workload.
WHY IT MATTERS
-
Because these skills should not be left to chance.
I learned many of them from performance specialists while playing NCAA and CFL football. They helped me in sport — and I still use them today as a husband, father and professional.
Elite IQ takes those lessons and makes them short, visual and easy to use for young athletes.
How we got here:
2022–2025: Started testing simple performance lessons with young athletes.
2026 Spring/Summer: Football Pilot with Cumberland Panthers and Myers Riders. Athletes showed they could understand, remember and use the skills.
2026 Fall/Winter: Bring the same approach to hockey and prove it with more athletes and families.
2027: Grow what works and bring these skills to more young people.
The bigger goal is not just better athletes. It is a generation better prepared for pressure — in sport, school, work and life.
-
Because pressure does not end when the game does.
The same skills show up everywhere:
Sport: Big games, mistakes and tough losses.
School: Tests, presentations and setbacks.
Work + Life: New challenges, hard conversations and big decisions.
Very few athletes will make a living from sport. Every athlete can take something valuable from it.
The goal is bigger than hockey: help young people carry composure, focus and resilience into every stage of life.
-
We only collect the information needed to run the pilot and track progress.
To join: Parent or guardian name + email, athlete name and preferred position, plus consent.
During the pilot: We record lesson completion and answers from the two short check-ins.
If results are shared: They are shown as a group. No athlete or family will be identified.
Less information. Clear purpose. No unnecessary data.
-
No. Elite Hockey IQ is a performance education program.

-
Yes. Taking part is completely your choice.
If the pilot is not right for you or your athlete, you can stop at any time. Just let me know.
No pressure. If you’re open to it, we’d love to hear why so we can keep improving.
